Instrumentation

There are 8 spectrometers within the Minnesota NMR Center, available for use by both internal and external researchers. If you prefer, one of our specialized managers can operate the spectrometer for you, at a rate of $50 for internal UMN users and $100/hour for outside academic and industry users. The Bruker 700-MHz Avance III (7002) can be used for solution or solid-state NMR.  It is equipped with a cooled SampleJet sample changer (480 samples) for maximum stability in high-throughput studies and a 1.7-mm triple resonance cryoprobe (30 microliter sample volume), in addition to a variety of solid-state probes.

  • 4.0mm Varian HXY T3 MAS: 1H/31P-13C/13C-15N
  • Varian HX BioStatic rectangular coil: 1H/31P-15N for glass plates (300uL)
  • Varian HXY BiCell round coil: 1H/31P-13C/13C-15N for bicelles (150uL)
  • MagLab (Tallahasse,FL) HN rectangular coil: 1H/15N for glass plate samples (300uL)
  • MagLab HX round coil: 1H/15N or 1H/13C for bicelles (150uL)
